    What is Estradiol?

Estradiol is a therapeutic agent for estrogen absorbed by the skin. Supplement the lack of 17-beta estradiol secreted by the female ovaries, while avoiding side effects caused by oral administration (breast pain, weight gain, hypertension, gallstones and abnormal liver function). Estrogen can promote cell synthesis of DNA, RNA and the corresponding tissue within a variety of different proteins.
Estradiol , also spelled oestradiol, is an estrogen steroid hormone and the major female sex hormone. It is involved in the regulation of the estrous and menstrual female reproductive cycles. Estradiol is responsible for the development of female secondary sexual characteristics such as the breasts, widening of the hips, and a feminine pattern of fat distribution in women and is important in the development and maintenance of female reproductive tissues such as the mammary glands, uterus, and vagina during puberty, adulthood, and pregnancy. It also has important effects in many other tissues including bone, fat, skin, liver, and the brain. While estradiol levels in men are much lower compared to those in women, estradiol has important roles in men as well. Aside from humans and other mammals, estradiol is also found in most vertebrates and crustaceans, insects, fish, and other animal species.
Estradiol is a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries. Estrogen is necessary for many processes in the body.

    Application

Estradiol is used to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, and vaginal dryness, burning, and irritation. Other uses include prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, and replacement of estrogen in women with ovarian failure or other conditions that cause a lack of natural estrogen in the body.
Estradiol is sometimes used as part of cancer treatment in women and men.
Estradiol may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.

    Uses

It is used for functional uterine bleeding, primary amenorrhea, menopausal syndrome, and prostate cancer. It can promote and regulate the normal development of female sexual organs and auxiliary sexual characteristics. It can promote the development and proliferation of mammary ducts, but when the dose is large, it can inhibit the release of prolactin from the anterior pituitary and reduce milk secretion. It can also be used for milk recovery. However, there may be nausea, vomiting and excessive endometrial hyperplasia and bleeding. Use with caution in patients with liver and kidney dysfunction. Avoid use on breast, vulva and vaginal mucosa.
